RECOMMENDATIONS

Because Toyota and Lexus Australia did not bring Soarers into Australia themselves neither company wants anything to do with these cars. Therefore you have to deal with people outside of Toyota or Lexus who are experts. Unfortunately there are not many fully competent and knowledgeable mechanics in Australia who really know these cars. Be very aware of this fact. A tell-tale sign of a mechanic who does not know what he is doing and should be completely avoided for any such mechanical work is whether they put green or red coolant in the car. Red coolant is for aluminium engine systems. Green coolant is for copper/brass systems. Soarers use red coolant. Green coolant is cheap. Red coolant is expensive. Using green coolant in a Soarer is a testimony of incompetence. Your Soarer will die after prolonged use with green coolant. Soarer Dismantlers Australia has all the right connections when it comes to looking after these cars properly. Here are a few useful and relevant resources for Australian Soarer owners.

SOARER MECHANICAL SERVICING AND REPAIRS (NSW)

If you live in NSW there is one mechanic in Sydney who is THE expert on Soarers and we recommend no one else than he for any mechanical work required for your V8 or 6 cylinder Soarer. Company: Bond Auto Tech. CLICK HERE to visit their website. If phoning ask for NIAL (rhymes with "mile.") Nial has been a Soarer specialist for over 15 years and has the proper diagnosis and testing equipment, the only one in Australia. Don't go to anyone else.

SOARER ELECTRICAL SERVICING AND REPAIRS

"Blinky dash", dead EMV, door locks malfunctioning, engine ECU issues, audio system problems - these are what to expect from a 20+ year old Soarer. Soarers have elaborate electronics and computerized systems, particularly the UZZ31. For these things we recommend you go to Nam's Electronics, in Marrickville, Sydney. Nam's has 15 years of experience in fixing Soarer electrics and is well-known to long-time Soarer owners. CLICK HERE to vist their website.

NEW SOARER MATS & CARPETS

Genuine OEM mats and carpets are no longer available from Toyota but you can still get great aftermarket mats and carpets for your 1991-2000 Soarer. To find a place that even makes them is a blessing and companies that do deserve your support. So buy their products! For car mats we have tried and like the mats made by Matcraft Australia in VIC. Click here to see their Soarer range. Another company, also in VIC makes great carpets in different quality weaves as well as sound proofing and underlay. Order from All Car Carpets. Click here to see their products for Soarers.

TECHNICAL: NITROGEN BRAKE ACCUMULATOR PROBLEMS

If you are unfortunate to own a Soarer that has the rare nitrogen acculumator setup instead of the regular brake booster system you are going to be faced with issues eventually which are common to the system and unfortunately expensive to fix. Cars with this rare option are uncommon and hence finding a used system is almost impossible. However, the good news is that you can get yours rebuilt. This will be a decision you will not take lightly as the whole rebuild done properly is approximately $2000. There is a guy in VIC who rebuilds them, apparently the only person in Australia who can do their entire rebuild. If you want yours rebuilt please contact us by email and we will forward contact details to you.

SOARER SURVIVAL KIT

Soarers have their mechanical irks and quirks. Most are well over 20 years old now and they all suffer from the same problems, especially the first series (1991-1993.) Just because Soarers are cheap to buy these days does not mean you have bought a "cheap car." They are not generally cheap to fix. If you do not have money you should not own a Soarer. We recommend you keep a spare of every one of the following somewhere safe for the day you will need it.

CARS WANTED - UZZ30, JZZ30, UZZ31, JZZ31

In order to continue to provide this specialist service to Soarer owners we need to replenish our stock when we run out of parts. Stock comes from dismantling cars. Any car only has ONE ECU, ONE EMV, ONE driver's door trim. Many parts are too popular to keep as stock items and are sold within minutes of the car arriving. If you have a Soarer you want to retire or perhaps have an unfinished project that has been in the garage for years, or perhaps you are simply fed up with the headaches, then contact us and we may be able to help you.
